Unexpected

My mom went through a program to get her home built. Through this program groups and individuals take time and come from many states to help in building my mom’s home as well as other projects. It’s Christian based faith program. I wrote a story to talk about who we are as a family and the gratitude for their time and hard work.

We have a dinner event to come together to get to know each other and talk about the experience it has been for them. We talk about their first time visiting our small town and their home. I have met so many wonderful people and many who were excited to meet me because of what I wrote. I have had speeches I done in front of these large groups to express the humbleness of this entire experience and what it means to have them.

Tonight was another dinner event and it was nice to see the excitement of someone wanting to meet me that they loved what I wrote. After another speech I had many handshakes, praises of my poise, my ability to speak so well, my ability to write so beautifully as they said and it was humbling and remarkable. They said it was a pleasure to meet with me and I felt more pleasure in meeting them. Many asked if I’m a public speaker, or if I’m a writer or will write a book. They gave encouragement to do so. They said I should pursue this that it’s truly a gift that God gave me a way to be a voice for those who can’t find the words. We talked about ways for me to be a journalists, a reporter and to work for mission trips.

It was heartwarming and so kind of them. Such a pleasure to speak to each of them and know about the place they live. I’m praying about mission trips and these ideas they have. I believe life will take me to beautiful places and do amazing work to help others. They left me speechless but gave me plenty to think about. People are put into our lives for a reason and there is a reason and plan for everything.
